Audit & Accounts Senior

Overview

We are recruiting for a qualified or qualified by experience Audit & Accounts Senior to join our audit department. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and managers to deliver statutory audit and accounts preparation services, while supervising and supporting junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering audit and accounts assignments
  • Planning assignments in conjunction with the client partner or manager
  • Involvement with some of the firm’s largest and most complex engagements
  • Supervising junior staff during audits and reviewing their work
  • Delivering completed audit files to the assignment manager or partner in a timely manner
  • Managing client communications in a professional and effective manner
  • Proactively monitoring chargeability and assignment budgets
  • Coaching and supporting team members to improve performance and technical development
Experience
  • Audit work for owner‑managed businesses, SME private companies and groups (UK and international), including planning, budgeting, identifying key risks, developing audit plans and executing audits
  • Knowledge of current auditing standards and methodologies including analytical review, documentation of systems and controls, and sampling techniques
  • Preparing statutory company accounts under UK GAAP
  • Experience with specialist sectors such as charities, solicitors and LLPs
  • Experience preparing and auditing consolidated accounts
  • Supervising audit teams and reviewing their work
  • Preparing budgets and monitoring time against budget

Knowledge of IFRS would be advantageous but is not essential.

Qualifications
  • ACA / ACCA qualified, or
  • Qualified by experience (QBE)
