Audit and Accounts Semi Senior

We are recruiting for an Audit and Accounts Semi-Senior to join our Accounts and Audit department.

You will be involved in the preparation of statutory accounts under UK GAAP (FRS 102 and 105). Experience of IFRS will be useful but not essential. You will also be involved in audits under the management of your seniors and managers and be involved with each phase of audit engagements from planning through to conclusion. In addition, you will oversee, train and guide junior members of the team.

You will also be expected to have basic tax (direct and indirect tax) knowledge and will be involved in the preparation of draft corporation tax computations on the assignments you are involved on.

In addition to the above, your role may involve the preparation of management accounts and cash flow forecasts for certain clients and assist our Business Support Unit on occasions.

You will be expected to have strong communication skills, both written and orally. You will also be required to have good up to date technical knowledge.

  • The successful candidate will:
  • Be Part-Qualified ACA or ACCA
  • Have at least 24 months experience in Accounts and Audit (within practice)
  • Be skilled in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Preferably have experience of CCH accounts production as well as exposure to using Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
  • Be self-motivated and commercial with ambitions of progression

Secretary/PA

Glazers is a firm of accountants based in Golders Green where an opportunity has arisen for a Secretary/PA to join our friendly team.

Within this role the candidate will provide high level and dedicated organisational support to the office and assist the Partners in managing their time effectively to meet the needs of the practice.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Managing partners portfolios
  • Organised and a team player
  • Arranging meetings for partners and inputting into their diaries
  • Dealing with post and forwarding to clients
  • Sending Letters of engagement to engage a client
  • Set up new clients on our platform
  • Incorporate new companies to Companies House
  • Covering reception when needed and answering phone calls
  • Smart search – AML on clients
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience with word, outlook and excel
  • Submitting tax returns to HMRC
  • Submitting accounts to Companies House
  • Invoicing clients and chasing debts

Duties will include:

  • Assisting with accounts and tax return filing process and managing portfolio deadlines
  • Preparing documents and writing reports
  • Company secretarial work (training given)
  • Management and prioritisation of confidential emails
  • General office administration
  • Client and staff liaison
  • Diary management for Partners
  • Handling incoming telephone calls

Your Skills and Experience

  • Ideally work experience within an accountancy practice
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with people of all levels and to understand and communicate complex messages both to and from those supporting
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and prioritise work appropriately
  • Ability to quickly pick up knowledge of the business and use this knowledge to make judgements on key issues
  • Friendly, assertive and confident
  • Microsoft packages plus knowledge of accountancy/cosec software a benefit
  • Being able to arrange mail merges
  • Experience of CCH software would be beneficial, however training will be provided

Applicants must have proven experience of working in a similar role and an excellent standard of written and verbal communication with a high standard of written grammar.

Overall our ideal candidate should be efficient, self-motivated, organised, a good communicator and IT literate.
