Audit and Accounts Senior

We are recruiting for a qualified or qualified by experience Audit and Accounts Senior to work within our audit department, to assist the partners and managers in delivery of statutory audit and accounts preparation services, and to manage and allocate work to audit trainees.

We are a well-established firm specialising within the owner managed business area across the UK.

The Audit and Accounts Senior duties will be:

  • Planning and delivery of audit/accounts assignments
  • Plan assignments in conjunction with the client partner or manager
  • Lead some of our largest and most complex assignments
  • Supervise junior staff during the audit and review their work
  • Deliver the audit file to the assignment manager or partner in a timely manner
  • Manage client communication in effective manner
  • Monitor your chargeability and your assignment budgets pro-actively
  • Coach other staff for improved performance and technical development

Experience

  • Experience of OMB/SME private company audits: planning, budget preparation, identifying key risks, developing an audit plan, executing the audit on site
  • Knowledge of and experience of current auditing standards and approaches: analytical review, documenting systems and controls, sampling techniques
  • Significant prior experience of statutory company accounts preparation under UK GAAP, and also charities, friendly societies, solicitors and LLP’s
  • IFRS knowledge would be useful but not essential
  • Experience of preparing and auditing consolidated accounts
  • Leadership experience – experience supervising teams on-site and reviewing their work
  • Experience of preparing budgets and monitoring actual time against budget

Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or QBE

Accountant/Service Charge Auditor

Glazers is a medium sized independent firm of Chartered Accountants who are looking to recruit an accountant/service charge auditor to add to our existing team. They would work within our Residential Property Services department dealing with the preparation of Service Charge accounts.

Not necessarily qualified, you should have at least 2 years relevant experience in accounting and within the residential property management industry. This is an exciting role for a professional with some experience who is looking to develop and grow with the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and completion of accounts, tax computations, reports and audit under supervision within the Service Charge and Accounts Departments
  • Adhering to the departmental policies and procedures
  • Attending department meetings client complete accounts assignments including completing and signing off all sections for manager
  • Liaising with agents and client staff to complete assignments and clear queries
  • Completing all work assigned within budget to the required quality with minimal unresolved queries
  • Preparing service charge accounts in line with the latest guidance and specific to each agent / client requirements
  • Preparing fully compliant associated company accounts
  • Full completion of workings file, preparation of draft accounts and letter of representation
  • Communicating clearly in both written and verbal channels

Accounts and Audit Semi Senior

We are recruiting for an Accounts and Audit Semi-Senior to join our Accounts and Audit department.

You will be involved in the preparation of statutory accounts under UK GAAP (FRS 102 and 105). Experience of IFRS will be useful but not essential. You will also be involved in audits under the management of your seniors and managers and be involved with each phase of audit engagements from planning through to conclusion. In addition, you will oversee, train and guide junior members of the team.

You will also be expected to have basic tax (direct and indirect tax) knowledge and will be involved in the preparation of draft corporation tax computations on the assignments you are involved on.

In addition to the above, your role may involve the preparation of management accounts and cash flow forecasts for certain clients and assist our Business Support Unit on occasions.

You will be expected to have strong communication skills, both written and orally. You will also be required to have good up to date technical knowledge.

  • The successful candidate will:
  • Be Part-Qualified ACA or ACCA
  • Have at least 24 months experience in Accounts and Audit (within practice)
  • Be skilled in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Preferably have experience of CCH accounts production as well as exposure to using Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
  • Be self-motivated and commercial with ambitions of progression
