In April 2006, tax relief was re-introduced for life insurance arranged in a pension. At the same time most, if not all, of the previous restrictions were lifted making this a very attractive way of saving money.

Basic rate taxpayers can get 22% of the cost of their life insurance paid by tax relief and higher rate taxpayers can get 40% paid.

Further savings can also be made on your life assurance policies as a result of a general decrease in premiums over recent years.
