Sipp IFA (Firm) of the YearI-SIPP is adamant that self-invested personal pensions are going to flourish as a result of pensions simplification. As winner in the Life and Pension Sipp IFA (Firm) of the Year category, London based IFA, Glazers Financial Services, believes that it is situated perfectly to take advantage of this forecast explosion in the Sipp market come April 2006. The firm edged out Hargreaves Lansdown with the judges applauding I-Sipp's "good technical presentation demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the Sipps market". Michael Fairweather, an IFA for I-Sipp, who provided the firm's winning case studies, explained the firm's confidence in the Sipp market was because Sipps offered the control, cost savings and transparency required by investors who had become disenchanted with the "packaged" pensions offered by large insurance companies. "Once people read about others buying a holiday home through their pension, the idea is going to catch people's imagination", he said. "People will want advice on their pension investments. This should be the catalyst for getting people interested in pensions again". Mr Fairweather said although I-Sipp was only launched last October, the key members of the firm had developed an expertise in the Sipp market by previously working within I-Sipp's parent company Glazers Financial Services.
